Already Have a Domain? Here's How to Connect It
If you've got a domain name (like yourbusiness.com.au) and a new website from us, you just need to update one DNS setting to connect them. No tech skills required — follow the steps for your provider below.
What You'll Be Doing
You're adding a CNAME record that tells the internet "when someone types my domain, show them my new website." That's it.
Here's what to enter:
- Type: CNAME
- Name/Host: @ or www (see your provider's instructions below)
- Value/Target: cname.vercel-dns.com
Step-by-Step by Provider
GoDaddy
- Log in to GoDaddy and go to My Products
- Find your domain and click DNS (or Manage DNS)
- Click Add New Record
- Set Type to CNAME
- Set Name to www
- Set Value to cname.vercel-dns.com
- Leave TTL as default
- Click Save
If you want the bare domain (yourbusiness.com.au without www) to work too, look for the existing A record with Name = @ and change its value to 76.76.21.21
Namecheap
- Log in to Namecheap and go to Domain List
- Click Manage next to your domain
- Go to the Advanced DNS tab
- Click Add New Record
- Set Type to CNAME
- Set Host to www
- Set Value to cname.vercel-dns.com
- Click the green tick to save
For the bare domain, add an A Record with Host = @ and Value = 76.76.21.21
Crazy Domains
- Log in to Crazy Domains and go to My Domains
- Click on your domain name
- Go to DNS Settings
- Click Add Record
- Set Type to CNAME
- Set Name to www
- Set Value to cname.vercel-dns.com
- Click Update
For the bare domain, add an A Record with Name = @ and Value = 76.76.21.21
VentraIP / Synergy Wholesale
- Log in to VentraIP and go to My Services > Domain Names
- Click on your domain, then DNS Management
- Add a CNAME record with Subdomain = www and Content = cname.vercel-dns.com
- For the bare domain, add an A Record with Content = 76.76.21.21
- Click Save Changes
Other Providers
The steps are similar for any provider. Look for DNS Settings or DNS Management in your domain control panel, then add:
- A CNAME record: www pointing to cname.vercel-dns.com
- An A record: @ pointing to 76.76.21.21
After You've Made the Change
- DNS changes can take up to 48 hours to fully kick in, but usually it's much faster (5-30 minutes)
- Once it's live, typing your domain in the browser will show your new website
- HTTPS (the padlock icon) is set up automatically — no extra steps needed
Not Sure Where Your Domain Is Registered?
No worries. Try searching your email for "domain renewal" or "domain registration" — the provider's name will be in there. Common Australian ones include GoDaddy, Namecheap, Crazy Domains, VentraIP, and NetRegistry.
